Hello and welcome!

My name is Isabela Rodriguez. I am a media specialist with an innate balance of drive, enthusiasm, and creativity who is deeply passionate about all things media production, marketing, advertising and copy. From a young age, I had a keen appreciation for the world of film, television, and other forms of media. As I grew older, I realized sitting on the sidelines as a passive viewer wouldn’t be enough for me in the future. I wanted to pursue a career that would afford me an outlet for my creativity. Since coming to that conclusion, I have been working diligently to achieve my goals.

My time spent at the University of Florida served to underscore my desire to further enmesh myself in the media production sphere. I was fortunate enough to acquire skills and experiences that I had only considered up until then but hadn’t had the opportunity to actually experience. Since graduating, I have fondly looked back on those opportunities as crucial stepping stones for the next step in my media production career.  

The internships I was fortunate enough to participate in and all of the high-level media production courses I completed, gave me a thorough foundation in media production from pre-production to post-production while simultaneously garnering skills in screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and sound design, just to name a few. I also had the great pleasure of working on several film projects which I am happy to share with you here.

College was challenging and rewarding at the same time. Yet, I felt I needed more and that I had more to offer so I pursued a Social Media Specialist position for a marketing company that catered to empowering women in the media production industry. It was during my tenure at both this marketing firm and the university’s news station, WUFT News, that I significantly improved my skills. Both of these experiences gave me valuable insight into the industry and allowed me to continue to develop my skills in a real-world setting. 

Looking to the future, my ultimate goal is to become a successful director and/or producer, creating compelling and engaging content that resonates with audiences. I am cognizant that this will require hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn and grow. But hard work has never deterred me from pursuing my dreams.  I am fully vested and will do whatever it takes to make it a reality.
