How did I know that media production was my schtick?! Let me tell you all the ways… Think Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, Twitches and “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.” 2008 was the year I had the epiphany. I wasn’t sure how but I was certain I was going to find a way to be a BIG part of the media production industry. I was that kid that turned every word in a conversation into a commercial jingle, TV show intro or a hilarious movie one-liner. My idea of staying indoors out of the rain was sitting behind a desk while anchoring the news. I wrote my own script, designed my own news station and directed my mother on how to record me on my dad’s camcorder.
Not much has changed since! I still enjoy spending copious amounts of my free time editing, filming, writing scripts, and ambitiously writing a fantasy novel (for the last five years) which may never see the light of day but pleases me nonetheless. Hence, my full-scholorship media production, management, and technology (MPMT) degree (a little bit of shameless self-promotion). In my opinion, there’s nothing better than achieving something you thought you’d never do.
